It is going to be difficult for the Seahawks to make the playoffs because they play seven of their remaining ten games against teams that are vying to make it as well. The only three games against teams not going for the playoffs are in their division in the San Francisco 49ers for two games and the Arizona Cardinals, one, which they play at home.

More from Seattle Seahawks

They play every team in the NFC North and already lost to the Chicago Bears in game two in Chicago 24-17. The Bears lead the north with a record of 3-2 followed by the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings with 3-2-1 records.

The Seahawks have a bye coming up then play the Detroit Lions who have a record of 2-3. So those four teams are bunched together, whoever can be successful in knocking the other ones out will win the division. Seahawks do play the Packers and Vikings in Seattle, so that goes well in their favor.

After the Lions, Seattle plays the Los Angeles Chargers of the AFC West at home. The Chargers right now are 4-2, in second place behind the Kansas City Chiefs 5-1. The Seahawks play K.C. at home to in the next to last game of the regular season.

Continue the rest of the schedule you will see a pattern. Why the Seattle Seahawks make the playoffs is because they are able to overcome a tough schedule, winning seven out of the ten games, which should assure them of making the playoffs. Likely winning six of those games probably won’t, depending on which ones they win.

Why they don’t make the playoffs is because they can’t overcome the tough schedule. This will depend on how healthy the Hawks stay, and continue to have success in running the ball. One thing I know for sure we should see some good football in the next ten games. Right now I say they make the playoffs because they run the ball successfully.
