3) Toughest part of the schedule

What represents a tough section of the schedule is open to interpretation. One example comes early in the season, with three consecutive road games against San José, Vancouver and Los Angeles between April 8-23.

Another version will take place during August, when the Sounders face three games in eight days, (August 20-27). The opponents for this trio of fixtures will be Minnesota, Vancouver and Portland.

Actually, while we’re on the subject of the hardest parts of the schedule, any game against arch rivals the Timbers should be considered challenging. This season they will meet three times, twice in Seattle (May 25th and August 27th) and once in Portland (June 25th).
