4) Breaking down the basics

The Sounders will have 12 games featured on national television, with six on ESPN, five on FS1 and one on FOX. As reigning MLS Cup champions this is interesting, only because they had 14 nationally televised games last season.

In that respect, it should also be noted the Sounders will have a tough start to the defense of their trophy, with seven of their first 11 games on the road. Again, for the purposes of comparison, last season they played seven of their first 11 games at home.

On the flip side, the Rave Green will be in a strong position as the season winds down (assuming they are still in contention for a playoff spot of course). Three of their final four games will be played at CenturyLink Field.
