Seattle Seahawks: Is Cary Williams a Good Fit?
When compared to Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas III and Kam Chancellor, Byron Maxwell is unquestionably the least-heralded member of the Seattle Seahawks legion of boom. However, at this particular moment in time he is also the most important.

That’s because Maxwell is set to test free agency next week. He is expected to draw a lot of interest from around the league, due to being the top cornerback available this year.
In an ideal world, the 2011 NFL draft pick would re-sign for the Seahawks. Maxwell became a regular starter for the team in 2014 and played a key role in helping the team return to the Super Bowl.
However, there are many media experts – including ESPN Seattle‘s Brock and Salk – who believe the 27-year old is unlikely to be back in Seattle next season. As such, John Schneider and Pete Carroll are currently considering their options.

Along those lines, it looks like the Seahawks front office is already doing their due diligence. As per a report from Mike Wilkening of profootballtalk.nbcsports.com, cornerback Cary Williams had a free agent meeting with the Seahawks on Thursday.
The 30-year has been a full-time starter for the Baltimore Ravens (2012) and Philadelphia Eagles (2013-14) during the last three seasons. In that time, he has had nine interceptions, while also defending 39 passes.
At 6-1 and 185 lbs, Williams has the size Seattle looks for in their cornerbacks. He also has plenty of big-game experience, after helping the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers.
In the event that Maxwell does sign elsewhere, Williams certainly appears to be a good replacement. As you’d expect though, plenty of other teams having shown an interest in him, including the New York Jets, Tennessee Titans and his former team, the Ravens.
