Washington football: 3 takeaways from Huskies win over ASU 9/22/18
By Matt Barry
Is the Huskies’ solid defensive unit susceptible to the run?
The Huskies have relied on a solid, physical defense so far this season, that is especially good against the pass. The secondary thus far has been terrific and Saturday was no different. ASU senior QB Manny Wilkins threw for just 104 yards in the game and could not get anything consistent going through the air.

Running back Eno Benjamin, however, rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown. Overall the Sun Devils gained 164 yards on the ground. It was the rushing attack that kept Arizona State in the game.
This is something to keep an eye on, going forward. Washington faces a balanced offense next week when they host #20 Brigham Young University. The Cougars have a win at Wisconsin under their belts already during their 2-1 start to the season.
This will be a tough non-conference game, BYU averages 4.3 per rush. Auburn ran for 147 against Washington. FCS opponent North Dakota gained 161 yards on be ground in Seattle two weeks ago. This may be somewhat of an issue against a team dedicated to running the football.
If Browning and the offense are past their early season inconsistent play, the Huskies should have enough firepower to overcome this small blemish.
