Seahawks Game Prediction: Can Seattle Win in L.A.?
By Ben Renner
The Seahawks face the L.A. Rams today at 1:05. Can they tie the Rams for first place in the NFC West?
The Seahawks face one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now in the L.A. Rams. The Rams beat the Cowboys in Dallas last week in a classic shootout. If Jared Goff and Todd Gurley get off to good starts against Seattle at home, it could turn into another high-scoring affair for L.A. I think Richard Sherman and company don’t let that happen.
I follow the tradition of all Seattle fans despising all Los Angeles sports teams. I can’t predict the Rams will defeat the Seahawks this afternoon in spite of the matchup problems, the recent history of Seattle’s road struggles against the Rams, and all the rest.
So, I’ll throw a score prediction out right away: 24-17 Seahawks.
That’s right. A semi-normal score and three touchdowns for the Seattle in a road win over at team that gave them fits under Jeff Fisher.
But today’s matchup between the NFL’s youngest coach and its oldest is much different than any other Rams-Seahawks matchup.

The Rams are hot and appear to have so many offensive weapons that they can’t possibly use them all in the same game. They utilized their wide receivers against the 49ers two weeks ago in a shootout on Thursday Night Football in Week 3, and they rode Gurley to another shootout win over Dallas last week.
The Seattle defense is unlike any other defense Sean McVay has faced so far, however. Goff has improved greatly over last season, but this will be his first true test of the season against the Legion of Boom. While the Seahawks will miss defensive end Cliff Avril and cornerback Jeremy Lane, Sherman and company will make life difficult for the second-year passer.
And if the Rams appear reluctant to toss the ball wide against this Seattle secondary, expect linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright to come down and crack Gurley on run and pass plays.

L.A.’s defense will keep this close, but in the end, Russell Wilson will start cussing on the field again and lead his team to another game-winning drive in crunch time.
