Over the coming weeks, we here at Emerald City Swagger will break down our 20 most interesting Seahawks players for the 2017 season. But before we start with this debate, let’s go ahead and set the parameters of our series.

First and foremost, this list is not naming the 20 best Seahawks. It is not a list of the most important Seahawks. It is simply a list of players we deem as interesting. Some are on this list because they are new. Others might be coming off an injury. A few are superstars with something to prove.

When we say “interesting,” we do not mean funny to listen to. We don’t mean the smartest players or the best interviewers. These 20 players figure to impact the season in potentially big ways.

Star Seahawks like Bobby Wagner and Cliff Avril will not be on this list. Of course they will have a huge impact on this season. But what question marks surround these players? Both are coming off career years. Both are going to call Seattle home for the foreseeable future. Neither is rehabbing from major injuries.

To simplify things; they aren’t that interesting, at least for our purposes here. Coaches are ineligible, otherwise Pete Carroll would be battling for the number one spot on our list. The actual ranks are a bit subjective. The difference between the 15th and 16th most interesting players could be almost zero. The difference could be significant. That is up to you.

Disagreement is good. It leads to discussions and an exchange of ideas. So if you disagree, let us know in the comments or on Twitter. We are open to the debate. But most importantly, football is just around the corner. So let’s sit back and enjoy the debate. It is almost time Seahawks fans, let’s get excited.
