The season may have only just finished, but the Seattle Seahawks are already been listed among the teams most likely to win Super Bowl 52.

When the opening championship odds for the following season are released, you usually find both Super Bowl teams at or near the top. However, let’s be honest – all we care about is where the Seattle Seahawks have been placed.

In that respect, we can confirm the Seahawks are in a great position, at least according to OddsShark. The sports betting site has ranked Pete Carroll’s team as joint-third favorites (+1100) to win Super Bowl 52, along with the Green Bay Packers.

Of course, this guarantees nothing, but it still speaks volumes about how much talent and potential the Seahawks have. Assuming the likes of Tyler Lockett, Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman are all fully recovered from injury, it only strengthens their challenge.

In addition, if general manager John Schneider, Carroll and the rest of the front office can bolster the offensive line, then they’ll really be in a promising situation. Overall, the Hawks’ ranking as joint-third favorites makes a lot of sense.

More from Emerald City Swagger

Unsurprising, the New England Patriots are favorites (+600) to win Super Bowl 52, after their stunning comeback on Sunday night. Interestingly, the Atlanta Falcons are ranked fifth (+1125) behind the Seahawks and Packers, despite dominating both teams during their postseason journey to the big game.

Again, if the odds are anything to go by, the Dallas Cowboys figure to be the biggest obstacle on the path to glory next season. OddsShark currently has them as second-favorites (+1000) behind the Patriots, no doubt influenced by the youthful talented duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot.

In terms of the NFC West, the Seahawks don’t figure to have much of a challenge. The Arizona Cardinals unsurprisingly offer the biggest threat — if you can call it that — ranking eight (+3300) among NFC teams and 14th overall, to win Super Bowl 52.

The Los Angeles Rams and San Franciso 49ers are in a sorry position, ranking 29th (+11000) and joint-31st (+22500) respectively. The bottom four is rounded out by the New York Jets (+11500) and — can you guess? — the Cleveland Browns (+22500).
