The Washington Huskies get their man, as wide receiver Ty Jones takes to Twitter to share his excitement about signing for his dream school.

The Washington Huskies were all too familiar with the phrase “once bitten, twice shy”. In fact, they were doubly aware of it, after losing defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu and running back Connor Wedington to USC and Stanford respectively.

As such, when news broke during the weekend that Ty Jones was officially visiting UCLA, fans feared the worst. Suddenly, it didn’t matter that he had already verbally committed to Washington, especially when combined with the aforementioned losses.

However, the Huskies and their fan base can breathe easy, after Jones sent out the following tweet on Tuesday night:

Of course, you could still argue this guarantees nothing, until the wide out actually signs on the dotted line. As such, this tweet by Huskies’ wide receiver coach Bush Hamdan should put any doubts to rest:

Scout.com and 247sports.com are both high on Jones, with each website giving him a four-star rating. Scout rates him as the 29th-best player at his position in the country, while 24/7 Sports place him at 34.

Interestingly, Rivals.com are not as convinced by the wide receiver’s potential, as evidenced by only rating him as a three-star recruit. Similarly, they only rate him as the 57th-best player in the country at his position.

No matter whose scouting report you may favor, one thing we do know is that there was plenty of national interest in Jones. In total, he received 13 offers, including four from other Pac-12 schools (UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State and Utah).

Jones is one of a trio of wide receivers in the Huskies’ 2017 class, along with Terrell Bynum and Alex Cook. Jones is arguably the most intriguing of the three, although Bynum is also a four-star recruit.
