1) Starting on the road

The Sounders’ unique position in 2017 isn’t limited to being defending champions. They will also open the new season on the road, for the first time in MLS franchise history.

Seattle will begin their campaign March 4th in Texas, against Houston Dynamo. It doesn’t get much tougher than this, given that they have never won at BBVA Compass Stadium.

This will be followed by a trip to Montreal on March 11th, to take on the Impact. The Sounders then finally get to return to Seattle, to play their home opener on March 19th, against the New York Red Bulls.
