3) FC Dallas’ Supporters’ Shield ambitions

As someone once said, football can be a funny old game sometimes. In light of recent events, FC Dallas would probably agree with this assessment.

The Toros spent the majority of the season looking likely to win the Western Conference and the Supporters’ Shield. Suddenly though, they are no longer in control of their destiny.

With two games remaining, FC Dallas find themselves one point behind the Colorado Rapids at the top of the standings. On the plus side, they currently have a slightly better goal difference and have scored more, if the two sides finish tied at the end of the season.

In any event, the Sounders won’t be able to count on their opponent doing them any favors on Sunday. This may be going out on a limb, but there will be no repeat of the scoreline from the last time these two sides played each other.
