3) Home sweet home

It’s well documented how much the Sounders have struggled during eight previous trips to Houston. This includes four clashes at BBVA Compass Stadium, with Seattle unable to ‘navigate’ their way to a single victory. (Apologies. I couldn’t resist it.)

The humidity plays a part, but it doesn’t tell the whole story, given that other teams manage to beat the Dynamo in Texas. Regardless, things couldn’t be more different, when Houston travels to Seattle.

The two sides have also met eight times in total at CenturyLink Field. In those fixtures, the Rave Green have won on six occasions and never lost.

And even though the Sounders haven’t been quite their usual dominating selves on home turf this season, they’ve on a run of five wins out of six in Seattle. Throw in the fact the Dynamo have only two victories on their travels in 2016, and there are few — if any – excuses for Schmetzer’s men to lose on Wednesday night.
