Day 2- Round 2- Pick# 49- Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama

Wow. This one is shocking. Shocking because the assumption was that Reed- the premier run-stuffing defensive tackle in this draft- would not only be gone by this point but was expected to be off the board by the time Seattle made their first selection. When he found himself the last man sitting in the green room half way through the second round, the Seahawks decided to put an end to the torment.

Trading their 4th round pick (124 overall) to move up 7 spots in the NFL Draft, Seattle nabbed a respected player from the National Champions to immediately battle for early down playing time as a replacement for the Brandon Mebane role, currently held by free agent acquisition Sealver Siliga. Expect Reed to find a home in the D-Line rotation very early and excel. He is a high-quality addition to that pile and an excellent pick.

Early Grade: A

Universally regarded as a first round talent, Reed is a great player at a position of need. Home run.
