We’re all done being enamored with James Jones, right? That was just a fleeting thing after his hot start in 2014, and now it’s well in the past. Or so it should be, and so I like to think. He’s pretty clearly no good, and it’d be a real drag if anyone out there still thinks he should be starting in center.
Except maybe he will be in September, and that’s okay, because maybe, just maybe, there’s something more in there. And if the team is serious about trading Austin Jackson this month, then there’ll be a gaping hole in center. Yeah, it should probably be reserved primarily for the shortstops, but Jones can see time there, too. If he insists. And if he’s healthy – Jones is currently on the DL.
