Seattle Seahawks Seven-Round Mock Draft

Round 6 (214): Mark Nzeocha, Wyoming OLB

He is a boom-or-bust prospect. But in the sixth round, you might as well take a chance on a guy with high upside like Mark Nzoecha. He is one of the most rangy linebackers in the entire draft class. Once he finds the ball carrier, he drives off his back foot and explodes past blockers and through the runner. He can really hit, although some more work on breaking down on runners in space will be needed when playing in the NFL.

The problem with Nzoecha is, he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off. Low awareness and play diagnosis lead him to be a complete non-factor or even a liability on some plays.

Definitely not a guy who is going to help the Seahawks in 2015, but he definitely is a guy worth taking a flier on. Linebacker isn’t necessarily a need, unless Bruce Irvin‘s option is declined by the team before May 2nd. But even if he does return for 2015, having a guy like Nzoecha being groomed for the future would be perfect for Seattle.

Here is a video of Nzoecha against Florida Atlantic in 2014 (he is no. 21).
