2) Duke’s Achilles Heel Is Good Guard Play

Their four losses were all to teams led by guards. Jerian Grant totaled 36 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds in Notre Dame’s two victories over the Blue Devils. Also, guards Demetrius Jackson and Pat Connaughton are the second and third leading scorers for the Irish.

Guards Trevor Lacy and Ralston Turner lead NC State in their victory against Duke combining for 37 points, and Miami got 61 points and nine assists from their back-court trio in their upset of the Blue Devils.

Look for Kevin Pangos to take over should these two heavyweights meet in the Elite 8.
