ESPN reports that the Seahawks and Lynch have a deal that will pay him $11 million in 2015. It’s the deal he was expected to get, and now hey, look, he’s got it. So Marshawn is sticking around great.
Except, don’t just brush off this news. Yes, it was expected, but it was at no point until now a guarantee. Until this bit of news, the possibility existed that Marshawn would not be a part of the 2015 ‘Hawks. That could still happen – injury, trade, etc. – but the likelihood is way lower than it was when we all woke this morning.
So go celebrate. Go wild. Money Marshawn! This guy’s gotten to be a part of two straight Super Bowl runs. Why not make it three? Maybe another big year will convince him to stick around, again! Let your imagination take over. It’s February 2016, the game’s on the line, and Pete Carroll gives Lynch the ball on the one and says “run it in.” Hey, it could happen.
In conclusion, here’s a picture of Marshawn Lynch with gloves in his mouth. Today is a happy day.
