Our Dave Champion used the Seattle Seahawks bye week as a time to project out the rest of their season. He believes the Seahawks will go 8-2 in their final 10 games.

Week 8 at Detroit

The Seattle Seahawks will be invading Ford Field to face the Detroit Lions. This will be a fun battle to watch. The Lions defense has been suspect, allowing running backs to have there way with them. The arm of Matt Stafford is strong when it comes to downfield throws to either Golden Tate or Kenny Golladay.

The Detroit passing game combined with running back Kerryon Johnson, who is starting to come on recently, makes them dangerous. The Seahawks have shown on defense the last couple of weeks that they can rush only the front four and get pressure, so the Seahawks should come away with the “W” in this game. Record 4-3.

Week 9 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Week 9 action involves the Seahawks at home facing Los Angeles (AFC version). This will be an epic battle among a pair of quarterbacks who possess strong arms for slinging the ball downfield. L.A. quarterback Philip Rivers has shown that he is an ageless wonder when it comes to throwing the ball. On the other side, you have Russell Wilson who excels when his back is against the wall. He can keep up with the best of them.

Let’s not forget about the two-headed monster the Chargers have. Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler in the backfield may be too much to handle for the Seahawks defense. This will become a close game in the fourth quarter but the Chargers will make one more play than the Seahawks and the Seattle will lose the game. Wilson remains winless against the Chargers in his career. Record 4-4.
