Washington State Cougars at Oregon State

Herb Nightingale – The Cougars going into this game 4-1 overall with a record of 1-1 in the Pac-12. Last week they played at home against Utah. They beat the Utes in another close game 28-24. Trailing late, WSU quarterback Gardner Minshew threw an 89-yard touchdown pass to Easop Winston Jr. late in the fourth quarter for the victory.

Oregon State Beavers, on the other hand, have a record of 1-4, 0-2 in the Pac-12. Both losses in the last two games are to the two Arizona schools. They lost to the University of Arizona in Corvallis 35-14 and Arizona State in Tempe 52-24.

It looks like a long season for the Beavers this year and the Cougars again have a mighty offense so my prediction will be WSU 49 Oregon State 24.

Ed Stein – I’ll start off by saying Washington State is going to win this game big. The entire PAC-12 is going to beat up on the Oregon State Beavers. This week it’s the Cougars turn. OSU will run the ball and get some yards, but nowhere near enough to make a serious dent in the scoreboard. Peyton Pelluer could be the PAC-12 defensive player of the week. Gardner Minshew should tear apart the Oregon State defense.

Schlasser – Another trainwreck of a college football season as the Beavers chose to clog up their own rivers instead of… ya know… find a quarterback. The Cougars should have a very hearty and filling feast if they don’t get in their own way. At least you aren’t the Bruins, guys. WSU Wins.

Sarah Maninger – Oregon State.

Matt Barry – This Cougars team is intriguing. They should be undefeated if they finished the USC game more efficiently. Their Air Raid offense is clicking behind quarterback Gardner Minshew.

This matchup comes down to Oregon State’s running game against WSU’s run defense. The Beavers average 199 yards per game on the ground. This could potentially keep Minshew off the field. But I like WSU’s ability to stop the run. The Cougars win.
