There are many ways to replace underperforming Seattle Seahawks right tackle Germain Ifedi. He’s not a good fit at this point. Here are three options the Seahawks could handle Ifedi’s situation.

“With the 31st pick in the 2016 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select Germain Ifedi, tackle, Texas A&M…”, NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell uttered those words when Seattle picked Ifedi in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft. What should have been a start to Seattle’s offensive line rebuild became what fans call “Seattle’s worst draft pick in a long time.”

What are Seattle’s options at Right Tackle if they choose to get rid of Ifedi?

Possibly Trade for a Right Guard

This is one of the least likely options in searching for Ifedi’s replacement, but it is still an option. This week Seattle goes head-to-head at home with the Dallas Cowboys. As the 12th man knows, last year, after the Seahawks beat Dallas, Earl Thomas III ran into the Cowboys locker room and approached Jason Garrett. Thomas told the Dallas coach to “come get” him.

Pete Carroll has continued to state that a trade involving Thomas won’t happen and the plan is to “keep him”, despite his training camp holdout. Never say never, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors when Pete Carroll and John Schneider talk to one another. Seattle could ask for a tackle in return for Earl Thomas III, but again its highly unlikely. There aren’t many other options for a trade or finding an unrestricted free agent to replace Ifedi this far into the season.
