Arizona State at Washington

Ed Stein – I like the way Washington is playing right now. Myles Gaskin proved last week that he can run on a good defense. Jake Browning didn’t have his best game, but it wasn’t as bad as his critics have pointed out. He was certainly good enough to win and also showed that he can throw bullets on the run.

ASU’s defense was beaten up physically last week by San Diego State’s offensive line. This week the trainer’s room will have some additions from their offense. The Huskies are bigger and stronger than anything Herm Edwards’ team has faced this season. Oh yea, and U-Dub wants some payback for last year’s loss in Tempe. Huskies roll big.

Brad Weiss – It has been a nice start for Arizona State under head coach Herm Edwards, as they won their first two games, including a big home win against Michigan State. However, they came down to earth this past weekend, losing to San Diego State and a backup quarterback, and it does not get any easier for them against Washington. The Huskies are out to prove they are good enough to be in the College Football Playoff, and a win against Edwards and the Sun Devils would look nice on their resume. Huskies win this one by ten.

Matt Barry – You may not realize that ASU is 11-1 in their last 12 against Washington. Last year, the Sun Devils upset then #5 Washington 13-7. They have a senior QB in Manny Wilkins and were upset last week by San Diego State. The Sun Devils should be ready and confident.

The Huskies beat Utah last week and have been playing tremendous defense. They will pose problems for ASU. On offense, the Huskies have been inconsistent, however, Myles Gaskin broke through last week for 143 yards on the ground. Look for the Huskies to continue to show improvement offensively. They also understand the history against ASU. Washington wins this one.

Randy Sgaraglio –  The 10th ranked Huskies of Washington will be big favorites when hosting the Arizona State Sun Devils and their first-year Head Coach Herm Edwards. However, both teams have 2-1 records. The Sun Devils took down the currently ranked #24 Spartans of Michigan State earlier this year. So, there is optimism for ASU fans, but not for this game.

Even though the Sun Devils have defeated the Huskies in 11 of the past 12 meetings, this game will not follow that trend. The Huskies have displayed enough firepower on offense in the past two games to feel fairly secure at obtaining a win this week. Huskies Head Coach Chris Petersen and his staff must prevent their team from becoming complacent, then victory will be theirs.
