Dud of the week
2nd dishonorable mention – Most of the offensive line. Five sacks allowed in the first half? It wasn’t just Germaine Ifedi. At halftime, Pete Carroll told ESPN’s Lisa Salters “We have to protect Russell Wilson, better.” Anyone watching the game could see that. He also put some blame on his quarterback saying the team had to get rid of the ball faster.
1st dishonorable mention – Germaine Ifedi. If Ifedi keeps this up, we may have to change the name of this category to the “smoldering trash heap of the week.” I didn’t think it was possible for him to do worse than he did last week, but I was wrong. Khalil Mack looked like he was playing against a high school lineman at times.
Dud of the week, Russell Wilson. Just when the Seahawks were gaining momentum and climbing back into the game with seven minutes remaining, RW3 threw a pick six. It was a poor read by him. Credit to Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara for jumping the route and taking it to the house. Then Wilson fumbled on Seattle’s next drive. Seattle’s signal caller single-handedly broke his team’s spirit.
Of course, we can’t mention Wilson this season without his propensity to hold the ball too long. He was swarmed by Chicago’s defense and couldn’t/didn’t throw it away. His defense bailed him out several times but Wilson repeatedly failed when it mattered.
