Seahawks at Chicago

Rucker Haringey – Games pitting two 0-1 teams with legitimate playoff aspirations against one another are always going to be hotly contested. Neither team is good enough to run away from the opposition in this one. Ultimately, I’m backing the Bears to grind out a narrow win at home. The lack of weapons for Russell Wilson to work with really concerns me. If this game was in Seattle, he might have enough magic to win. Instead, look for the Bears defense to hold the Seahawks down and win a close one.

Ed Stein – In two weeks the Seahawks will have played against the two best pass rushing linebackers in football. Last Sunday it was Von Miller of Denver, Monday night it’s Khalil Mack of Chicago. Hopefully, head coach Pete Carroll, OC Brian Schottenheimer, and the offensive line learned some things from their loss to the Broncos. The running backs need more holes, and Russell Wilson needs more time to set up.

I wrote it last week and I’ll write again this week, Chicago quarterback Mitch Trubisky hasn’t shown that he’s an NFL caliber quarterback. Seattle’s secondary will improve off of last week’s mixed bag of success and take advantage the Bears signal caller. I like the Seahawks in this one.

Matt Barry – I took Seattle last week and regretted it. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, and I should never pick again. The Bears have their home opener on Monday night and Khalil Mack should be a monster. Doug Baldwin is out for Seattle, which will hinder their offense.

Seattle’s offensive line will have some trouble against the Bears defense. The Bears feel they should have beaten Green Bay in week 1. I give this one to the Bears as the Seahawks continue to search for their first win.

Jaymin Bernhardt – One thing we learned in week one is that Khalil Mack might be the best defensive player in football this year. The addition of Roquan Smith to play beside Mack makes that pass rush of the Bears lethal. That being said, you have Russell Wilson at quarterback for the Seahawks who should be able to make the scramble plays necessary to get out of trouble. Smith and Mack will get there’s but the Seahawks offense will be just a little bit better than that of the Bears and take the win 24-17.
