The Washington Huskies football suffered a tough opening season loss against Auburn last Saturday. They rebounded this week with a blowout win over North Dakota.

Washington’s home opener versus North Dakota was the perfect layup for a team coming off a hard-fought loss in a season-opening top-10 showdown with Auburn. The difference in talent level from the SEC’s Auburn Tigers to the FCS Fighting Hawks was evident early. The Huskies overpowered North Dakota 45-3 on Saturday led by QB Jake Browning‘s 313 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Washington Huskies defense held The Fighting Hawks scoreless in the first half as the visitors held on for dear life. Although it was just 17-0 at halftime, the Huskies turned it on as Browning would play just three quarters.

It was exactly what the Huskies needed, an easy, feel-good win heading into their first conference game at Utah on Saturday to face the 2-0 Utes.  Here are 3 takeaways from the Huskies rout of North Dakota.
