Seattle Mariners: There is still time for a fairytale ending to 2018
While it seems as though the Seattle Mariners season is lost, Emerald City Swagger’s Jaymin Bernhardt say “not so fast.” He encourages M’s fans to remain optimistic.
This season has been extremely up and down for our Seattle Mariners. We’ve been through a whole bunch with this team. A decent start to the season that still had us in third place was what we had expected. Then Robinson Cano goes down with his hand injury which was bad but it was followed by the news of his suspension for the use of performance-enhancing drugs (furosemide).
At that point, we were, as Mariners fans, about as low as we could possibly get. The team was beginning to score runs at an incredible clip and the defense was stellar. When Cano went out, it felt like once again we were going to have another forgettable season.
Hot Start
However, thinking like that is for fans and not for players. The 25 guys in uniform had other ideas and exploded onto the scene as baseballs most surprising team. They’d win five in a row and then lose a game and then go on another winning streak. Lose a series? Unheard of during that stretch. Our Mariners had won back the hearts of many that it had destroyed many years ago.
