40. Scott Bankhead (1987-1991)
Bankhead was a mainstay in the Mariners’ rotation for about three seasons. In five total years, he collected 33 wins with a 4.16 ERA and 375 strikeouts.
His best year came in 1989 when he made 33 starts, pitched three complete games (including two shutouts) with a 3.34 ERA in 210 innings. He posted an 8.4 WAR in his time in Seattle, which is 13th best among pitchers in franchise history.
39. Matt Young (1983-1986, 1990)
Young was drafted by the Mariners out of UCLA in 1980. He went on to pitch five seasons with the M’s.
His rookie year was his best, including his lone All-Star appearance. He posted 11 wins with a 3.27 ERA in 203 innings.
Young totaled 45 wins in his stay in Seattle. He also struck out 597 with a 4.13 ERA in 191 career games for the M’s.
