Seattle Seahawks: Final Mock Draft
By ColPatnode
Pick 90-Seahawks select Akhello Witherspoon, CB Colorado
I am still shocked Witherspoon hasn’t gotten more buzz as the draft process has rolled on. He is long and a very good athlete. I have written about Witherspoon in the past, and my initial belief still holds:
"If Seattle is serious about getting back to its roots, than the team should continue to add competition to the one room that has had almost none for the past two seasons. Spending two picks in the Top-102 on cornerbacks might seem like a bit much, but with Witherspoon the Seahawks get another corner who fits their mold well. Standing at 6 foot 3 and nearly 200 pounds, Witherspoon uses his 33-inch arms and 4.45 speed to blanket receivers down the field. Witherspoon also jumped extremely well, sporting a 40.5-inch vertical and a 127-inch broad jump. While Witherspoon is an exceptional athlete, he does have work to do. He needs to add strength to avoid being pushed around outside, and while his 3-cone and 20-yard shuttle aren’t bad for a 6 foot 3 corner, they do prevent him from playing inside on a consistent basis. MockDraftable has Witherspoon’s closest athletic comp as Richard Sherman (click here) , who possess long arms and good leaping ability to quickly close down passing windows."
