Seahawks trade Pick 26 (700) to Atlanta for Pick 31 (600) and 95 (120), Select Garrett Bolles, OT Utah

Rumors have surfaced in recent days that the Seahawks and the Falcons are ready to pull a draft day trade, if Charles Harris is still on the board at 26. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but it does offer an intriguing scenario.

Garrett Bolles is an ideal fit for what Tom Cable and the Seahawks look for in their offensive linemen. The 6 foot 5, 300 pound lineman is an excellent athlete, who posted 112.5 SPARQ, which ranks in the upper 70 percent among NFL lineman.

Bolles is an excellent angle blocker, who gets to the second level and takes on linebackers with ease. His athleticism allows him to handle speed rushers off the edge. Bolles needs to add strength, but is technically sound in the run game.

He only has one year of big time college football, and will be 25 at the start of training camp. It is these two conditions that lead to an outside chance he will slip to 26. Most draft analyst have Bolles landing in Denver at pick 20.

If Bolles’ age forces him to slide down the first round, Seattle should not hesitate. The team’s window of competing with the current core is shrinking, and Bolles would instantly become the best tackle on the roster.
