Week 7 — at New York Giants, Sunday Oct. 22nd 1:25PT, CBS

Returning to the scene of the glorious Super Bowl XLVIII victory will hopefully inspire the Seahawks in this nail-biter. Eli Manning and the Giants will keep this game close and may even squeak it out in front of their home fans. While Seattle has shaken off their maddening East Coast curse in recent years, I could see them dropping this game to a quality opponent on the road. The Giants allowed the second-fewest points per game last year on defense, just ahead of Seattle.

Final Score: Giants 23, Seahawks 22 (4-2, Div: 1-1)

Week 8 — vs Houston Texans, Sunday Oct. 29th 1:05PT, CBS

The best defense in the league last year by yards allowed per game comes to Seattle in Week 8. We still don’t know who the starting quarterback will be for the Texans, but the most likely candidates probably won’t do well at CenturyLink in the rain against the LOB.

By late October, as we all know, the rains will have started up again. Wilson and his receivers are prepared for this weather, but whoever starts for Houston in this game will not be. I predict a blowout for the Seahawks against an inexperienced or chronically ineffective Houston quarterback. Perhaps J.J. Watt returns from injury this year to be the monster he once was and makes a difference in this game, but even he can’t make up for bad quarterback play against a defense that is just waiting to step in front of passes.

Final Score: Seahawks 34, Texans 7 (5-2, Div: 1-1)
