Pick 90: Seattle Seahawks select Ahkello Witherspoon, CB Colorado

Witherspoon is the only player I have given to the Seahawks in every mock draft. I wrote this way back in Mock Draft 1.0:

"Standing at 6’ 3″ and nearly 200 lbs, Witherspoon uses his 33-inch arms and 4.45 speed to blanket receivers down the field. Witherspoon also jumped extremely well, sporting a 40.5-inch vertical and a 127-inch broad jump. While Witherspoon is an exceptional athlete, he does have work to do. He needs to add strength to avoid being pushed around outside, and while his 3-cone and 20-yard shuttle aren’t bad for a 6’ 3″ corner, they do prevent him from playing inside on a consistent basis. MockDraftable has Witherspoon’s closest athletic comp as Richard Sherman (click here) , who posses long arms and good leaping ability to quickly close down passing windows"

To be honest, I am still having trouble locking down the range where Witherspoon will go. I have read some mock drafts that have him as an early second round pick and some where he slides into the late fourth.

It might seem odd for the Seahawks to spend two top 100 picks on corners, but without DeShawn Shead and mediocre seasons from Sherman and Jeremy Lane, the Seahawks should take advantage of this loaded DB draft class.
