With the regular season finally upon us, we take a look at eight of the most important home series for the Seattle Mariners in 2017.

It is finally time to start talking about the regular season, which begins this Sunday. In respect of the Seattle Mariners, we are less than two weeks away from the home opener on April 10 against the Houston Astros.

This is sure to be an exciting season for baseball in Seattle. Not only because the Mariners should be in contention all year, but also due to some exciting teams making the trip to Safeco Field.

This list contains home series with fun promotions and key matchups:

Miami Marlins, April 17-19

This is pretty self explanatory. The Marlins have one of the five greatest Mariners ever on their roster.

It will assuredly be a warm homecoming for Ichiro Suzuki, fresh off a season that gave him his 3,000th hit. On Wednesday, April 19, a get-away day game, special Ichiro bobbleheads will be given out.

This man needs no introduction to the Pacific Northwest, but I will do it anyway. In 12 seasons in Seattle, Ichiro hit .322, while simultaneously winning the Rookie of the Year and AL MVP in 2001.

He collected 2,533 hits as a Mariner, along with 10 consecutive All-Star selections. He may not be playing 160+ games anymore, but I am almost positive he will put on display when he comes back to his baseball “home” in Seattle.

Not to mention the Marlins in of themselves should be a fun team to watch, with a baseball-killer like Giancarlo Stanton in the lineup.
