10. Terrance Ross

Terrance Ross came out of Jefferson High School in Portland with much anticipation. When UW Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar successfully recruited him for his 2010 squad, it was considered a huge win for the Husky faithful. Another talented player in the Pacific Northwest headed to the Huskies. Ross came off the bench for Romar his freshman year, but in his sophomore year, he bloomed. He started all 35 games for the UW Huskies and earned First-Team All-Pac-12 honors while averaging 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds, leading the UW Huskies to the NIT semifinals in 2012.

Ross declared for the draft after his second season with the UW Huskies and was taken eighth overall by the Toronto Raptors. It was a natural fit, since Ross is Drake’s cousin. He won the NBA Dunk Competition his rookie year and managed to drop six three-pointers in a rout over his hometown Portland Trail Blazers. During his second year in the NBA, Ross started 62 games and averaged 11 points per game. He was a starter his third year, the 2014-2015 season, but was relegated to a sixth man role with Toronto this season, during which he has averaged 9.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Ross is now coming off the bench for the Raptors and has enjoyed an efficient season doing so in 2016-2017. He’s shooting a career-high 44% from the floor and averaging 10.6 points per game. With the Raptors ascending to the top echelon of the Eastern Conference this year, he could be headed for a tense playoff clash with the Cleveland LeBrons.
