More Good Players to Come

Romar has remained the head coach of the UW Huskies for so long despite mixed results in recent seasons because he knows how to recruit local talent. As I’ve mentioned before in my blathering about the UW Huskies, Washington and Oregon are rich in basketball talent. From high schools in Seattle with proud traditions of basketball greatness, such as Rainier Beach High School, to talented players coming out of big-time high schools in Portland, like Jefferson, the Pacific Northwest is a basketball hotbed.

The jury is still out on Murray and Chriss, but they figure to have a chance to make an impact in the NBA. With Fultz likely to be a lottery pick this year, and a new wave of talent coming to the Ave next season for Romar, we’ll get a chance to see a rare influx of Husky talent in the NBA in coming years.

Next: Life Without Malik Dime

Since we don’t have a team anymore, we’ll be relegated to rooting for individual players in the NBA. Keep an eye on more UW Huskies entering the league in the coming years and consider rooting for individual players instead of NBA teams, I suppose.
