One of the most interesting aspects of the trade, is where the 32-year old will play in Seattle. He grades poorly these days as a third baseman, but wouldn’t play there anyway, with 2014 Gold Glover winnerKyle Seagerfirmly entrenched in the position.
The plan is for Valenica to form a first-base platoon withDan Vogelbach. As a result, this likely meansDae-ho Leewill not be returning next season.
Speaking to Bob Dutton of theThe News Tribune, Dipoto said: “There’s very little likelihood that both (Valencia and Lee) will fit on the same roster.”
