With Seattle Sounders FC headed to the Western Conference Final to face the Colorado Rapids, we share three observations from a lively game against FC Dallas.

Do you dare to dream Seattle Sounders FC fans? Your beloved team now stands just two games away from the promised land.

Already leading 3-0 from the first leg, the Rave Green traveled to Texas in a commanding position. And even though FC Dallas scored twice to provide some nervy moments, Brian Schmetzer’s players stood strong and won 4-2 on aggregate.

It would be easy to already call this season a fantastic success, especially with where the Sounders were when Sigi Schmid left. However, that’s not the way the manager, the players or the supporters will be thinking, with just the Colorado Rapids standing between them and a place in the MLS Cup final.

In fact — amazingly — the final could well end up taking place at CenturyLink Field, depending on the outcome of both Conference Finals. However, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves and for now provide three observations from Sunday night’s eventful encounter at Toyota Stadium.
