2) Coping with the Dallas heat and homefield advantage

The Sounders’ struggles in Houston are well documented, having never beaten the Dynamo on the road. They can expect a similar challenge on Sunday, in Dallas.

However, it’s not just the heat that the Rave Green will have to contend with. Unlike Houston, FC Dallas actually win regularly at home and are tied for the league lead with 11 victories this season, at Toyota Stadium.

This includes a 2-0 win against the Sounders, who last visited Dallas in May. And let’s not forget Toyota Stadium was also the scene for the ultimate heartbreak for Seattle in last year’s playoffs, although the less said about that, the better.

At least the Sounders have had some success in Dallas, having won there as recently as 2014. However, this doesn’t change the fact it will be a tough task on Sunday, and they will do well to leave with a point.
