As Seattle Sounders FC prepare to take on FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium, we look at three factors which will help determine the outcome.

We should have known better – things were going a little bit too smoothly for Seattle Sounders FC, after winning four straight games. A fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday would have secured a playoff spot, but would have done a disservice to the team’s narrative this season.

Of course, this does not mean Sounders’ fans didn’t want — or expect — a win against Houston Dynamo. However, given how unpredictable 2016 has been for the Rave Green, a 0-0 tie against the worst team in the Western Conference summed things up.

At least it wasn’t a total disaster for Seattle, especially after they had to play the last 30 minutes (including injury time), with 10 men. The point still took them up to fourth place in the standings, with the chance to host a playoff game in the first round.

Next up are FC Dallas, who will be looking to avenge a 5-0 loss back in July. Let’s consider three factors, which will likely decide the final outcome.
