3) Joe Willis

You could make a compelling argument for Stefan Frei being the best player on the night. He made some impressive saves, especially from Bruin halfway through the first half.

In addition, Frei had to play the final 30 minutes (including injury time), with one less teammate in front of him. However, my instinct is to give the man of the match award to his opposite number, Joe Willis.

The Dynamo goalkeeper gets the honor based on his first half performance, when his teammates struggled to keep hold of the ball with any really consistency. His signature moment came when he made a double save from two attempts by Erik Friberg.

By the end of the night, Willis had made seven stops, to match his career high. In addition, regardless of how poor Houston has been this year, he also set a new personal season-high with his fifth clean sheet of the campaign.
