3) Houston’s defense

For a team at the bottom of the Western Conference, you might be surprised to discover the Dynamo are extremely solid at the back. In fact, they are tied for fifth in the league, for fewest goals conceded.

This is the last thing the Sounders will need, considering the issues they’ve had scoring this season. And despite the recent run of good form, they will have their work cut out, trying to breach Houston’s defense.

One thing that may help Seattle, is the likely absence of DeMarcus Beasley. The four-time MLS All-Star is listed as doubtful, as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

Overall, don’t expect the Sounders to take the Dynamo’s lowly position in the standings for granted. Yes, they desperately need three points to keep their playoff challenge alive, but it’s going to be a tough challenge and Seattle’s mental fortitude will be put to the test.
