1. Week 6 vs. Panthers

Heading into Week 6, the Seattle Seahawks looked like a same slow-starting squad from the year before, beginning the 2015 season 2-3. Two of their first three losses came in overtime, and all three were on the road. Both the pesky St. Louis Rams and the then-undefeated Cincinnati Bengals needed a final period to beat the Seahawks. After two home wins, the Seahawks were facing their usual NFC rival, the Carolina Panthers, for a chance to get back on track.

"The home loss dropped the Seahawks to 2-4 and spurred changes along the offensive line to help quarterback Russell Wilson avoid running for his life every pass play."

At this point, there was serious concern for the offensive line, which at times looked completely overmatched against opposing defensive lines. Carolina’s mean defensive line was scary, but this is a team that the Seattle Seahawks have owned in recent years, right? The Seahawks battled the Panthers hard and built a 23-14 lead in the fourth quarter, normally a safe lead for the Legion of Boom and company to protect, but quarterback Cam Newton led the Panthers to a stunning comeback. In the end, Newton found tight end Greg Olson running free up the seam for an easy 26-yard touchdown to give the Panthers the lead with 32 seconds left. All-Pros Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas still don’t know what happened on the play. (Just kidding. I’m sure they went over the tape endlessly.)

The home loss dropped the Seahawks to 2-4 and spurred changes along the offensive line to help quarterback Russell Wilson avoid running for his life every pass play. Including the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks only lost three games from this point forward.
