Negative:

Losing Obafemi Martins on the eve of the new season was undoubtedly a major blow to the team. He twice led the team in scoring during his time in Seattle, including a franchise-record 17 goals in 2014.

Positive:

The Sounders have dealt with a similar scenario before, when their all-time leading goalscorer Fredy Montero left the team. In this case, Martins’ replacement is effectively Jordan Morris, who is 10 years younger and already showing glimpses he has what it takes to succeed in MLS.
