3) The front line

Admittedly, scoring goals may come across as stating the obvious when it comes to a key to the game. However, there is genuine significance in respect of the Sounders, who are tied at the bottom of MLS in the scoring charts.

Admittedly, part of this is down to still adjusting to Obafemi Martins departure on the eve of the new season. Regardless, there is little excuse for the Seattle forward line to have no goals to their name yet, especially with the talent available.

One drawback of having this talent, is the likes of Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris being away on international duty, rather than using the opportunity to rest. Dempsey may well be rejuvenated after scoring for the United States, but don’t be surprised to see Herculez Gomez replace him or Morris at some point during the second half.
