3) Huskies prove they can deal with adversity

There were various points during Friday’s game, when the team could have just quit. However, every time, they fought back.

The first such critical point came when they found themselves trailing by 10, with 6:55 remaining in the first half. It would have been easy to let the game slip away, but they didn’t.

Likewise, when Bryce Alford made two late three-pointers to force the first and second overtime periods, this could have broken the Huskies’ spirit. However, each time the team found the resiliency to bounce back from these stomach punches.

As coach Lorenzo Romar told Allen: “It was a gut-check win for us…Tonight we recovered twice.” Moving forward, this win should go a long way towards giving Washington the belief they need, when faced with similar circumstances against high quality opponents.
