3) Russell Wilson sets new standard in the NFL

Ever since Russell Wilson first arrived in Seattle, the fans have fiercely defended him against critics. As far as they were concerned, he was severely underrated by the rest of the NFL.

However, that perception started to change due to Wilson’s negotiations for a new deal, with him eventually agreeing a four-year, $87.6 million extension. The situation reached an all-time low after the 39-32 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, with claims that he was being distracted by his celebrity girlfriend, Ciara.

Fortunately, the following game would see the three-time Pro Bowler start to turn things around, with a string of performances never seen before in the NFL. For five consecutive weeks, he had at least three touchdowns passes and no interceptions, including this stunning performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers:

As a result, Wilson set an all-time record, in the process proving he has yet to reach his ceiling. Now, it is up to him to continue playing well, and prove his worth once again when the playoffs start.
