Obafemi Martins had a lot to live up to in 2015, coming after a year in which he set franchise records for goals (17) and overall points (30). His performances saw him finish second in the MVP race, as he helped the Sounders win the Supporters Shield, for the best regular season record.

In some respects, 2015 was a case of what might have been for both Martins and the team in general. Rest assured, if he can remain healthy in 2016, the odds are that the Sounders will be in contention to win their first ever MLS Cup.
