(34) Dion Bailey, SS – Ultra-aggressive and fearless safety just needs to avoid overrunning plays and stay in his run fits. Love the attacking style and look forward to watching him grow with experience.

(33) Patrick Lewis, C – Still don’t know why he was never really in the running for the starting center job. Played well last year when called upon. Like him better than the other options.

(32) Garry Gilliam, OT – Pass protection has been encouraging at right tackle this preseason. Will see what happens when the varsity games begin but early returns are mostly positive.  May struggle with man blocking as he lacks the lower body mass to move people but should excel on pulling/zone-blocking run plays.

(31) Tharold Simon, CB – Seems to have grown up since his days on the LSU “lazy list,” but still looking for him to turn the corner and become “the next Byron Maxwell.”

(30) Derrick Coleman, FB – Performs a role that many others won’t. Adequate lead blocker and special teamer.
