Ten Biggest Winners of the 2015 NFL Draft
5) New York Jets
- 1 (6) Leonard Williams, USC DE/DT
- 2 (37) Devin Smith, Ohio State WR
- 3 (82) Lorenzo Mauldin, Louisville OLB
- 4 (103) Bryce Petty, Baylor QB
- 5 (152) Jarvis Harrison, Texas A&M OG
- 7 (223) Deon Simon, Northwestern State DT
Todd Bowles didn’t have a lot of picks to work with in his first year with the Jets. But he made the most of the picks he did have, bringing in a pair of day-one game-changers in rounds one and two, and a pair of players with tons of potential in rounds two and three.
Leonard Williams is my prediction for Defensive Rookie of the Year, and will have the chance to put up numbers early in his career with Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson drawing the double teams. And same goes for Devin Smith playing alongside Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall.
When it comes to Mauldin, there might be some holes in his game right now, but any time you describe a guy with the terms big hitter, constant motor and hard worker, you could be looking at a special player. The Jets are starting to look like a really good team, they just need a quarterback.
You’re up Bryce Petty.
