Seattle Seahawks Draft Grades: Obum Gwacham

C.
If you look up “raw prospect” in the dictionary, you will find a picture of Obum Gwacham.

Strengths

He is at his best when in pursuit. He has good change-of-direction to avoid blocks and has the speed and agility to stay with ball carriers.

Plays with an aggressive mentality and run hard through the whistle.

High character and hard worker. Always in the weight room.

Weaknesses

He is athletic for a DE, but has no timing. Often is the last guy off the snap.

Misses routine tackles.

Can get swallowed up easily by offensive linemen.

Below-average play recognition and awareness.

No real pass-rush moves. Just speed.

24-years old already.

Scheme Fit

I really don’t see where he fits in a 4-3. Not even close to enough power to play with his hand in the dirt, but doesn’t have the experience or awareness to play linebacker. Maybe they see a project, who can be a <a href=. DE. Oregon State. OBUM GWACHAM
