Seattle Sounders: Four Keys Ahead of Portland Timbers Clash

In terms of regular season games, it doesn’t get much better than this for the Seattle Sounders and their fans. Their rivalry with the Portland Timbers is one of the largest and most bitter in American soccer.

The bad blood between the two sides dates all the way back to 1975, and the days of the North American Soccer League. However, you could argue that the rivalry has only intensified since the Timbers joined MLS in 2011.

With all that being said, we can all now look forward to the latest chapter in one of the only true derbies in North American soccer. Here are four keys to consider ahead of the clash at CenturyLink Field.
