Seattle Seahawks Seven-Round Mock Draft
Round 6 (181): JaCorey Shepherd, Kansas CB
When it comes to scouting cornerbacks, my prototypes are past Seattle draft picks. Ladarius Gunter is a Byron Maxwell clone, and JaCorey Shepherd is the closest thing I could find to Jeremy Lane.
Lane will not be ready for the start of the 2015 season, after tearing his ACL and forearm clean-in-half in the Super Bowl. So finding a slot corner and special teams contributor, specifically another gunner, is a top priority for the ‘Hawks. I’m not saying Shepherd could be that guy right away, but he is a guy who flashed some ball skills at Kansas, and despite his small frame, can out-physical receivers at the line of scrimmage.
